Director of Coaching
Andrew Kewley oversees the technical (how Rapids Youth players play soccer) side of the organization as well as overseeing our entire technical staff and coaches. Additionally, Andrew oversees how our coaches learn and the educational component behind our programs as well as administering our college advisory program.
I enjoy working for the Rapids Youth Club for the variety each day brings. We have such a diverse range of programming that I get to work with players of all levels and backgrounds each and every day. The challenge to make sure each player we come into contact with leaves better off than the day is what inspires my work.
My experience as a coach and director extends to many levels of the game. I have coached at the college level to the semi-professional level to all levels of the youth game. After my collegiate playing career, I prolonged my stay at Drake University where I served as an assistant coach for two seasons, being part of a team that was nationally ranked and reached the post-season each of my two seasons. It was during this time in which I jumped into the youth soccer game as a Director of Coaching, serving as the Boys Director of Coaching for the Iowa Rush. I moved to Colorado in 2009 to work for the Colorado Rush as the Director of Coaching for the North Area branch. While there, I served as an assistant to our W-League team for 2 seasons and worked with high school aged teams in the national Rush Select program. I am currently a head coach in the Colorado ODP program on the boy’s side, a position I also held in Iowa. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration while at Drake University. I also hold a USSF ‘A’ License.
