U13-U14 Boys Director of Coaching

Biography

Andrew Kummer oversees all technical activities within the U13/U14 Boys Division. He will provide guidance on player movement, coaching education and player development.

Due to the ever changing landscape of soccer in the US, the Colorado Rapids are in a position to be leaders not only in Colorado but across the country. I enjoy being a part of a staff that is committed to the well being of players at every level and has the ability to push our top players to the next level.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, I began playing soccer at the age of 8. Following my club soccer years, I was recruited to play at the University of San Diego. After graduation, I spent a few years trying to play at the next level which included stints with the Tucson Amigos (USISL), Colorado Comets (USISL) and the San Diego Sockers reserves (CISL).

In a move to Colorado in 1994, I began my full-time coaching career with the Colorado Rush in 1997. Highlights during that period included a National Championship with the U20 Boys in 2000 and a National Championship runner up with the U18 Girls in 2000. I currently hold a USSF A License and have worked as a Colorado State Instructor for several coaching courses.

I am married to Jami Kummer, who is also a coach and manages an indoor soccer facility.  When not on the field we enjoy hiking with our 3 dogs and playing indoor soccer.
