About Rapids Elite
Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Rapids Youth Soccer is Colorado’s premier youth soccer experience and the only club in Colorado to offer opportunities from three-years-old to professional, from beginner to Major League Soccer.
CRYSC Elite programs consist of the Boys Development Academy, Boys ECNL, Girls ECNL, and WPSL. The goal of each of these programs is to provide an environment that is player-focused, provides a high level of competition, and to help prepare them for the next step in the player pathway.
The player pathway can look very different depending on the player, however, it is our goal to assist and provide an environment that allows each player to achieve whatever that next step may be for them — whether this is playing in college, playing professional, or simply playing for the love of the game.
The mission of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy is to impact the everyday environments, at the club level, to develop world-class players. The Rapids Youth Soccer Club is a member of the junior DA, which includes the U12, U13, and U14 age groups on the boys side. To read more about the DA and our teams, click here.
The Boys ECNL is made up of 90 member clubs. This purpose of this league is to support, and give clubs, full freedom in the development of some of their elite level players. It is a collaborative club-based development program that features competition, player identification, and coaching and club development platforms. The Rapids Youth Soccer Club is a part of the Mountain Conference, which is comprised of five other clubs. To read more about our Boys ECNL teams, click here.
The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) was founded in 2009. The goal of this program is to strengthen the developmental experience for elite female soccer players in the United States through:
- Developing a player-centered programming model
- Fostering one of the most competitive environments in youth soccer, through national events and leagues with multiple flights
- Improving the daily training environment for member clubs by providing best practices, and guidelines, while also giving each club freedom to decide what is best for their players
The Rapids Youth Soccer Club has six teams that are a part of the ECNL. To read more about our involvement in this league, and our participating teams, click here.
Participation in the CRYSC Elite Program(s) is invite only. Evaluating players for our elite teams is an ongoing, year-long process. Current CRYSC players are constantly being evaluated and placed on a team appropriate to their development. We also scout league games, host local and regional evaluation sessions, watch high school games and bring players in to train with our current teams.
Prior to each elite program’s season start, we hold kick-arounds. These are made up of current elite team players and others who have been invited by Elite Program staff.

College Placement Program (CPP)
The Colorado Rapids College Placement Program (CPP) assists players and their families with the college athletics recruiting process. The CPP will foster and develop relationships with university and college programs to create a consistent avenue for our players to achieve their goals of attending college and playing soccer. Because many of our elite level players will choose to continue their career onto the college level, our College Placement Director will help navigate the college selection process through online resource guides, quarterly workshops, ACT/SAT test prep program and assisting with Sports Recruits.
