Scholarships

This year, CRYSC has committed to adding an additional $100k for our scholarship efforts in order to support more families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Below you will see the new process for applying for Financial Aid, as well as the deadlines associated with your program. Once the deadline has passed for your particular age group/program, there will be no way to apply for Financial Aid, because this is an automatic system. All of CRYSC scholarships are need-based. There will be no Financial Aid provided for Summer Camps; discounts for these programs will be provided at the Camp Directors discretion.

All Financial Aid communication should go through the financialaid@rapidsyouthsoccer.org email address. This address is monitored by multiple people and we will respond within 5 days depending on the specific question or concern.

Anyone that joins the club mid-season and is interested in Financial Aid will need to reach out directly to the Financial Aid email. We can’t guarantee that players who join mid-season will receive Financial Aid due to budget limitations.

Process

  • Step One: If you have not done so already, all interested applicants must first complete the Competitive Intent to Play Registration through LeagueApps. This can be accessed on the registration page of each Region under the “Events” section:
  • Step Two: Once the Competitive Intent to Play registration has been completed, individuals are then able to apply for the scholarship. Families will not receive any information about their scholarship amount until after the scholarship closes. 
  • Step Three: During the Player Placement process, each player will receive an offer email for their team assignment and must accept/reject their team invitation. The age group and level of the team will determine the total fees for the season.
  • Step Four: All applicants will receive notice regarding the amount of their scholarship (or if they did not receive a scholarship) by August 15th. By this date, they will receive a new link to fill out the Payment Plan Information form. They will have one week to respond either with their acceptance of the scholarship and a completed Payment Plan Information form, or they need to respond with notice of their withdrawal from the program.
  • Step Five: When the Payment Plan Information form is received, the scholarship will be applied to their account and the payment plan will be created to pay the remaining balance.

*If the Payment Plan Information form is never received, the player will NOT be placed on a roster.*

  • 2) Hasta después de completar la registración para ‘Competitive Intent to Play’ podrá aplicar para la beca. No nos comunicaremos con ninguna familia sobre su beca hasta después de que se cierre la beca.
  • 3) Durante el proceso de formar equipos, cada jugador recibirá una oferta por correo electrónico. Tendrán que elegir si aceptar o rechazar la oferta. La edad y nivel del equipo determinará el total de costo por la temporada.
  • 4) El 15 de Agosto notificaremos a cada aplicante sobre la cantidad de su beca (o si acaso no reciben beca). Para esta fecha también recibirán un enlace en el cual llenaran su información para el plan de pagos. Types of Scholarships

Club Scholarships

If you are interested in Financial Aid, the first step is to apply for a Club Scholarship. All players must first apply for a Club Scholarship, including all Recreational and Competitive players of all ages. This is the default scholarship offered to all qualifying families based on family income levels.

Zarlengo and Dr. Bob Scholarships

These two scholarships will be by invitation only. The invitations will come from the Financial Aid Department. Players must apply for Financial Aid through the process described in the Recreational and Competitive menus.

Zarlengo scholarships are for Latino players only, boys and girls.

Dr. Bob is for two elite-level players, one boy and one girl each year.

If you have recommendations for potential applicants, please send an email to financialaid@rapidsyouthsoccer.org with the player’s name, your contact information, and a brief explanation of why you think they qualify. Regardless of their qualifications, all potential candidates must apply for Financial Aid through the general process by the deadline in order to receive an invitation to apply for Zarlengo or Dr. Bob scholarships.

How Much Can Players Receive

We take a number of factors into consideration such as total annual income and number of dependents. All information included in the scholarship application will help us make an informed decision on how much to distribute to each applicant.

Volunteers

The Financial Aid Department will keep the list of scholarship recipients and their contact information if Rapids Staff needs volunteers throughout the year. Staff will send a written description of volunteer needs, including dates and times, to financialaid@rapidsyouthsoccer.org and we will reach out to families directly to help coordinate volunteer recruitment.
