In October 2020, Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club partnered with United Futsal and US Futsal, launching Colorado’s most recognized elite futsal program. This partnership introduced Colorado’s soccer talent to the fast-paced world of futsal, previously unrepresented in the Rocky Mountain region. Today, our futsal players and teams compete not only across the nation but even across the world.
CRYSC serves over 300 elite futsal players annually in its one-of-a-kind pathway here in Colorado. With exclusive partnerships with United Futsal and U.S. Futsal, CRYSC competes at the highest levels of youth futsal in the nation.
In partnership with United Futsal and U.S. Fusal, along with our 25,000-square-foot indoor futsal facility with the only two indoor full-sized futsal courts in Colorado, CRYSC players are set up to develop as some of the best youth futsal players and teams in the nation.
The Elite Futsal Academy (EFA) will be the top-tier futsal program, where players will either be invited directly into the program, selected through open tryouts, or identified through their participation in our Advanced Futsal Academy (AFA).
Once selected, players will be placed into elite training pools by age group and will train 1x per week for 10 months with the option to travel and compete in tournaments based on availability. Our EFA teams will compete in United Futsal and U.S Futsal events throughout the year and will be catered to players born in 2017 – 2008.
This year’s EFA training program will include monthly scrimmage dates during regularly scheduled training to increase the number of game-like situations the players face. This will better prepare our groups for events and give the players the opportunity to apply our game model and methodology in a controlled environment.

The Advanced Futsal Academy (AFA) is a training-based futsal program. It has a direct link to our EFA and is run in (3) blocks seasonally throughout the year.
These sessions will be in 8-week or 4-week blocks, depending on the season, and gives players the opportunity to experience our futsal program on a smaller scale than the EFA. The cadence of this program is three (3) trainings + one (1) game day and repeats based on the number of weeks (ie: 8-week clinic will include six (6) trainings and two (2) game days).
Players who participate in the AFA and seek advancement into the EFA are encouraged to attend all the blocks throughout the year in order to sharpen their skills and demonstrate commitment to futsal programming.
Our AFA program will be catered to players born 2018 – 2012.
AFA Regional & National Event participation:
Though the AFA players will not participate in Regional or National events as a team, individual players who demonstrate commitment and aptitude within their age group will be considered for invitation to events with Elite Futsal Academy.

Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club (CRYSC) Elite Futsal offers high-level, skill-based players the opportunity to bring their talents to the courts and progress through the CRYSC Elite Player Pathway in a way that fits their game!
Players are selected for the player pool based on an evaluation of the following player characteristics:
Trialists will either be invited into the Elite Futsal Academy (EFA) or encouraged to participate in the Advanced Futsal Academy (AFA). ALL 8U-16U Elite (Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III), Competitive, Rising Rapids, and Recreational athletes are invited to try out for Rapids Futsal programming.
All players selected and accepting a spot on our EFA teams are expected to travel and attend all of their squad’s events throughout the year.
Generally, families will need to arrange their own airfare, hotels, and ground transportation. United Futsal and US Futsal may provide a block of rooms at a specific hotel at a discounted price. Families are encouraged, but not required, to stay at the hotel designated by these governing entities.
For all futsal teams, a high level of commitment is required, given the nature of the pathway. As soon as event schedules are released, our staff will add them to PlayMetrics.
Teams are responsible to cover the costs for:
Tournament entry, coaches’ airfare, coaches’ hotels, ground transportation, gas, and per diems. These costs are covered by each player’s event fees which can range from $200-$350 per player, which is in addition to the annual training fee.
The Berce @ Regis University, part of our Elite Performance Center, will be the only futsal-designated facility in Colorado, housing two full-size futsal pitches with futsal-specific lines to develop Colorado’s top futsal talent across the Front Range, with year-round programming and summer and residential futsal camps.
