About Rapids Elite

Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Rapids Youth Soccer is Colorado’s premier youth soccer experience and the only club in Colorado to offer opportunities from three-years-old to professional, from beginner to Major League Soccer.

CRYSC Elite programs consist of the Boys Development Academy, Boys ECNL, and Girls ECNL. The goal of each of these programs is to provide an environment that is player-focused, provides a high level of competition, and to help prepare them for the next step in the player pathway.

The player pathway can look very different depending on the player, however, it is our goal to assist and provide an environment that allows each player to achieve whatever that next step may be for them — whether this is playing in college, playing professional, or simply playing for the love of the game.

The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) was founded in 2009. The goal of this program is to strengthen the developmental experience for elite female soccer players in the United States through:

  • Developing a player-centered programming model
  • Fostering one of the most competitive environments in youth soccer, through national events and leagues with multiple flights
  • Improving the daily training environment for member clubs by providing best practices, and guidelines, while also giving each club freedom to decide what is best for their players

The Rapids Youth Soccer Club has six teams that are a part of the ECNL. To read more about our involvement in this league, and our participating teams, click here.

The Process

Participation in the CRYSC Elite Program(s) is invite only. Evaluating players for our elite teams is an ongoing, year-long process. Current CRYSC players are constantly being evaluated and placed on a team appropriate to their development. We also scout league games, host local and regional evaluation sessions, watch high school games and bring players in to train with our current teams.

Prior to each elite program’s season start, we hold kick-arounds. These are made up of current elite team players and others who have been invited by Elite Program staff.

College Placement Program (CPP)

The Colorado Rapids College Placement Program (CPP) has been established to assist all players and their families with the various aspects of the college athletics recruiting process. Because many of our elite level players will choose to continue their career onto the college level, we have hired a College Placement Director who will help parents and players navigate the college selection process through online resource guides, quarterly workshops, ACT/SAT test prep program, and assisting with College Fit Finder.

College Fit Finder is an online resource that helps high school players and college coaches find the perfect fit. Players will create a customized profile detailing their information for coaches and scouts to see their information. The online portal allows players to share their game film, grade point average, position, club, and more so that every coach can see what you would bring to their team. Browse schools through College Fit Finder to learn financial information and team information to make educated decisions about where you would like to visit and who you would like to save to your shortlist. College Fit Finder is also an official college recruiting partner of United Soccer Coaches, World’s largest soccer coaches’ organization. Overall, it is crucial for our players to take an active role in finding their program whether they intend to play or focus on their studies.
