CRYSC Earns Grant From Colorado Health Organization

Posted by: Curtis Gardner | Outreach Director

Since 2012, the Rapids Youth Soccer Outreach Department has provided after-school programming to underserved communities around the greater Metro Denver area. The programming has been made possible largely through the support of grants from a range of donors. The Outreach Department is proud to report that we have recently renewed a long-standing partnership with an outstanding local supporter, the Colorado Health Foundation. The Colorado Health Foundation will provide the Rapids After-school programming $176,000 over the next two years to support the program’s initiatives.

The Rapids After-school curriculum is based on core components that are consistent with the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s nationally-recognized Soccer for Success program, notably physical activity, nutrition education, family engagement, and coach-mentorship. In recognition of the impact of our programming, the Colorado Health Foundation has committed to an additional two years of funding which will support both our current scope of programming as well as additional programming in areas outside of the metro area. This program has impacted over 3,760 youth players over the last 2 years in Denver. With Assistance from the Colorado Health Foundation, these players will have support for years to come.

While the Outreach Department has strategically sourced new revenue streams over the past few years to lower dependence on grant funding, our partnership with the Colorado Health Foundation has been, and will always, be a cornerstone of our work in communities. As a leader in community-driven health solutions, the Colorado Health Foundation is more than just a respected voice; they are creating real change through a series of thoughtful, innovative partnerships. We consider ourselves fortunate to be one of their many partners and look forward to another two years of working together to create a healthier Colorado.
