Summer 2024 Goalkeeper Training Camp July 8-11

Description:

Rapids Youth Soccer invites all 9U+ players to attend our Summer Goalkeeper Camp run by Colorado Rapids Regional Goalkeeping Directors and our dedicated goalkeeping coaching staff. The sessions will mirror the CRYSC seasonal Goalkeeping Curriculum, developed and directed by CRYSC Goalkeeping Director and Rapids MLS Goalkeeping Coach Chris Sharpe, in order to provide further skill development for goalkeepers from both inside and outside of CRYSC. Our Summer Goalkeeper Camp is designed to keep players sharp in preparation for the upcoming Fall season. Each four-day camp will create a small group training setting to maximize individual attention and repetition on the ball. Camp rosters will be capped in each region in order to ensure optimal player-to-coach ratio.

In our Summer Goalkeeper Camp sessions, players will work on the following skills:

  • Footwork and handling
  • Shot stopping and shot handling
  • 1v1s and breakaways
  • Reactions/reflexes
  • Crosses and highballs
  • Distribution
  • Starting and set positions
  • Goalkeeper-specific fitness
  • Mental aspects of a goalkeeper

Deadline:

Registration will close 1 week before camp starts.
