Accessibility is Key
While Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer produces some of the best technical soccer experiences in the nation, one area we are striving to improve dramatically in is the accessibility of valuable information that our members can act on. Not only that, we believe that the satisfaction of our members outside of soccer is a key component to the betterment of the game on the field.
Our goal in the coming year to not only increase the amount of valuable information that you can act upon, but additionally, putting the customer service piece of our communication at the front of all our actions.
Bringing Content to You
One way we are doing this is by doing a better job of bringing the content to you. You’ll see this throughout the site, but most importantly on the landing page and on the home page, the opportunity to input your child’s date of birth and the system will populate what programs are available to your child in the upcoming seasons.
New Features
A landing page that gives the user quick access to two of the main reasons individuals come to our website. The first is the option to find programs by the players date of birth. The other is the field closure list.
The program age calculator is an amazing tool that provides our members the opportunity to find out exactly what programs are available to their child at any time by bringing the content to the members instead of members having to go and find the content. Simply input your child’s date of birth and system will populate the next two season worth of programs that are available to your child.
The Rapids Youth Soccer home page is a place where you can have quick access to the information that is most pertinent for the time of year and upcoming season. This includes easily accessible program buttons, a front page news blog role where you’ll find all the most up-to-date information, as well as access to all other pages on the website.
We also built out the program pages to create more robust information for our users when they do find the program for their child. These pages will have everything clearly listed out for our members, including pricing, maps of parks, how to order uniforms, how to get involved, as well as dates and deadlines.
Lastly, we wanted all the information in one place so our members do not have to go searching for the information they need. On any of our program pages, you’ll see all the information you need listed on one page and one page only. No need to go searching the site to find the answers.
Coming Soon Features
We are working on building a a scheduling database for our website that will incorporate game schedules, competitive practice schedules, as well as a schedule of our supplemental programs. This system will be searchable by age group, field, date, or team and will be accessible 24/7 with the most up-to-date information.
Our U9/U10 referee program will be moving to in-house referees either in the fall of ’16 or the spring of ’17. When this happens, all our referee scheduling for the U9/U10 teams will be done in-house with users able to sign-up for their own games on their own time.
Coaching resources will be a big part of our efforts in the next year or two, providing our volunteer and paid coaches access to valuable information through a members only database built into the website. Not only will we have practice plan on the website, but we will also be adding the curriculum and getting into video production to give our coaches as much information as possible.
