Welcome Peter May to Rapids Youth Soccer
Posted by: Jordan Collins | Director of Marketing & Communications
Rapids Youth Soccer is excited to introduce the newest member of our Staff and 15U-19U Boys South Director of Coaching, Peter May. Peter is a Kentucky native, playing youth soccer for United 1996 FC where he won 3 state-cup championships. In high school, Peter was an All-American in the state of Kentucky.
Peter went on to play four years at the University of Evansville where he graduated with two degrees in Political Science and Business Administration. May’s playing career was ended early due to a number of concussions that pushed him to develop his knowledge in coaching.
Off the field, Peter enjoys hiking, backpacking and spending time outdoors.
Peter spent 4 years coaching with Indiana Fire Juniors South, an affiliate of the Chicago Fire and coached for a year and a half at his alma mater. In 2015, he moved to Colorado to work for the Colorado Rush, where he served as the Youth Boys Director of Coaching and as the head coach of numerous DA and ECNL teams. This provided him the opportunity to coach 5 US Youth National Team players and win the U17 Girls ECNL North American Cup in 2017.
Rapids Youth Soccer would like to welcome Peter and wish him good luck in the club’s upcoming fall season! Be sure to follow along on social media for all of the accomplishments and learning moments throughout the season.
